The Warehouse Associate is responsible for the accurate and efficient handling of incoming and outgoing shipments. This role ensures materials are received, stored, and shipped correctly while maintaining inventory accuracy and complying with company safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
Receiving
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing slips
- Report and document shortages, damages, or discrepancies
- Unload deliveries using forklifts, pallet jacks, or hand trucks
- Label, organize, and store materials in designated locations
- Update inventory records in the warehouse management system (WMS)
Shipping
- Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment
- Generate shipping documentation (packing slips, bills of lading, courier labels)
- Coordinate shipments with carriers and schedule pickups
- Ensure shipments meet customer, carrier, and regulatory requirements
- Load outbound shipments safely and securely
Picking
- Pick products accurately according to pick lists, work orders, or WMS instructions
- Verify item numbers, descriptions, lot/batch numbers, and quantities before picking
- Ensure picked stock is deducted correctly in the system (WMS / ERP)
- Report inventory discrepancies, damages, or shortages
- Label pallets, cartons, and orders correctly
- Stage completed orders in designated outbound areas
Inventory & Organization
- Maintain accurate inventory counts through cycle counts and stock checks
- Assist with physical inventory audits
- Keep shipping and receiving areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards
General Duties
- Follow company policies, quality standards, and health & safety procedures
- Communicate issues or delays promptly to supervisors
- Support other warehouse and operations tasks as needed
- Maintains a clean and safe working environment
- Other duties that may be assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in shipping/receiving, warehouse, or logistics preferred
- Proficient computer skills and experience working with inventory systems or ERP software
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Time management and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication skills
- Problem-solving abilities
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs regularly
- Standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment e.g. Raymond Reach certification
- Warehouse environment and may involve exposure to noise, dust, or varying temperatures
- Overtime may be required during peak periods
Pay: $19.00-$20.00 per hour
