The Senior IT Project Manager – Global Functions acts as a strategic partner to corporate functions such as Human Resources, Customs, Communications, Legal, and Procurement. Reporting to the ITBP Manager – Global Functions, the role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering complex technology projects in compliance with PMO standards and applicable governance and compliance requirements. In a context of growth and transformation, this position actively contributes to process optimization, continuous improvement, and the creation of sustainable value for the organization, in close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
Your future duties and responsibilities
- Plan, lead, and deliver technology projects aligned with the strategic objectives of the organization and business units
- Define, maintain, and monitor project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, resources, and deliverables, based on the context and specific needs of each initiative
- Assume overall accountability for project delivery, including the management of risks, issues, quality, dependencies, and change requests
- Work closely with stakeholders to ensure appropriate prioritization, effective coordination, and informed decision‑making
- Ensure the availability, allocation, and optimization of resources required for project execution
- Ensure compliance with baseline deliverables, manage project communications, and provide structured reporting to sponsors, governance bodies, and the Project Management Office
- Present project status to relevant committees and support governance and phase‑gate activities
- Coordinate the transition to operations, including deployment and post‑deployment phases, to ensure effective and sustainable adoption
- Apply established governance frameworks, organizational processes, and compliance requirements
- Optimize and evolve processes and ways of working in collaboration with clients and partners, with a continuous improvement mindset
- Contribute to the development of project team members and the evolution of project management practices
- Participate in the strategic development of the function, including the identification of opportunities for improvement and organizational alignment
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related field
- More than 15 years of project management experience, including traditional and hybrid Agile approaches
- Recognized project management certification (PMP, ACP, PSM, or equivalent) considered an asset
- Proven experience in project governance and compliance within structured organizational environments
- Demonstrated leadership and strong influencing skills with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders, without direct line authority
- Excellent understanding of business challenges, project financial management, and continuous improvement practices
- Mandatory knowledge and hands‑on experience with Agile methodologies
- Strong knowledge of business, functional, and corporate processes
- Experience working in matrix organizational environments
- Bilingual proficiency in French and English, both written and spoken.
CGI provides a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this position. This range is determined based on various factors, including skill level, geographic market, experience, education, as well as professional licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions are made on a case-by-case basis, a reasonable estimate for the salary range of this position is between $70,000 and $120,000. This position is currently open.
