The Opportunity
Continuous Improvement Coordinator leads the lean manufacturing process through the facilitation of continuous improvement efforts in quality, cost, delivery times, morale, and safety initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in continuous improvement efforts to facilitate lean implementation
- Leadership of cross functional teams.
- Plan and redesign current manufacturing processes and facilities.
- Evaluate new machinery, processes and facilities and recommend or select efficient combinations to senior management
- Develop flexible or integrated manufacturing systems and procedures.
- Conduct studies and implement programs to determine optimum inventory levels for production and to allow for optimum utilization of machinery, materials and resources.
- Analyze costs of production and recommend cost saving opportunities
- Design, develop and conduct time studies and work simplification programs.
- Identify employee skill requirements & develop training programs.
- Develop performance standards, evaluation systems and wage and incentive programs with the general manager, human resources and other managers.
- Develop proactive maintenance standards, schedules and programs.
- Establish programs and conduct studies to evaluate manufacturing risks and to enhance industrial health and safety programs
- Follow AGI’s Code of Business Ethics and related compliance policies
- Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications:
- A professional engineer, a certified engineering technologist or a manufacturing professional
- 3-5 years' progressive experience in lean implementation and continuous improvement field preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- An effective communicator, leader and trainer who can work with all levels of management and non-supervisory employees to execute the responsibilities of this role.
