The head office for Charm Diamond Centres (CJ Limited) is looking for an Accountant to join our team in Dartmouth, NS.

Reporting to the Manager of Financial Reporting, the Accountant will be responsible for:

Full cycle accounting for a construction entity, which includes:
-
Preparation and submission of monthly progress billings related to new store openings and renovations

Communication with Construction team to track job progress and billing
-
Project costing, including the coding and allocation of project expenses, materials, and labour hours to the correct cost codes and project phases

Project budgeting and variance analysis against actuals

Processing vendor invoices, corporate credit cards, and preparation of monthly cheque runs

Preparing monthly financial statements for Management review

Accounting support for retail entities, which includes:

Performing bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner

Assist in preparing and maintaining financial records, including journal entries and general ledger reconciliations

Support month-end and year-end close processes, including accruals and adjustments.

Assist with semi-annual inventory counts, including the support of reconciliation of results
-
Monitor expense report submissions for accuracy and compliance with company policy

Ad hoc duties as requested.
Qualifications and Experience:

Prior experience working in accounting or a Bachelor of Commerce degree with a major in Accounting

Proficient Excel abilities are considered a strong asset

Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams, Outlook, etc.) is considered an asset
