Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Forklift Operator to join our warehouse team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating various types of forklifts, including clamp trucks and order pickers, to efficiently manage inventory and support warehouse operations. This role requires mechanical knowledge, attention to safety, and the ability to perform heavy lifting tasks. The Forklift Operator plays a critical role in ensuring smooth distribution processes within a fast-paced warehouse environment.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate forklifts, including clamp trucks and order pickers, to move materials and products throughout the warehouse
- Load and unload goods from trucks using appropriate forklift attachments
- Pick and prepare orders accurately using warehouse management systems (WMS) and order picking techniques
- Conduct routine inspections of forklifts and report any maintenance issues promptly
- Assist with inventory management by organizing stock in designated areas
- Perform basic math calculations for inventory counts and order accuracy
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and warehouse procedures at all times
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety standards for heavy lifting and equipment operation
Experience
- Prior experience operating forklifts, especially clamp trucks and order pickers, is highly preferred
- Mechanical knowledge related to forklift maintenance and troubleshooting is a plus
- Familiarity with warehouse distribution processes and systems such as WMS is advantageous
- Basic math skills necessary for inventory counts and order processing
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in a fast-paced setting
- Previous experience in warehouse management or distribution centers is beneficial but not required
