The Medical Aide is responsible for assisting physicians with minor medical procedures, supporting patient care, and ensuring examination rooms and equipment are prepared for clinical use. This position rotates between Front Reception, ECG, ENT, and Family Physician support and includes both clinical and administrative responsibilities throughout the clinic.
The successful candidate must be comfortable working in multiple departments, adapting to changing priorities, and providing support wherever needed to ensure excellent patient care and efficient clinic operations.
Employment Status and Hours of Work
This is a casual permanent position. Hours of work will vary based on operational needs, staff absences, vacation coverage, and clinic demands.
Applicants must be available to work Monday to Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. or 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. While this position may provide up to full-time hours at times, full-time hours are not guaranteed. Weekly hours may fluctuate depending on clinic requirements.
The Medical aide is responsible for:
- Rotate between Front Reception, ECG, ENT, and Family Physician support as required
- Assist physicians during examinations, minor procedures, and patient care activities
- Prepare, clean, and maintain examination rooms, equipment, and supplies
- Perform basic clinical tasks, including ECG testing and obtaining patient measurements such as height, weight, and blood pressure
- Provide reception and administrative support, including answering phones, scheduling appointments, scanning, faxing, filing, and processing patient information
- Follow health and safety protocols and maintain patient confidentiality
- Work collaboratively with physicians and clinic staff to support efficient clinic operations
