Customer Service Representative (Front Desk / Inside Sales)

Position Overview
Uppal Building Supplies Ltd. is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Customer Service Representative to support our Head Office- Surrey. This hybrid role combines front desk responsibilities with inside sales support and proactive account development.
This is not a passive counter position. The successful candidate will be expected to provide exceptional service while actively supporting sales growth and strengthening contractor relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and assist walk-in customers professionally and efficiently
- Answer incoming phone calls and respond to customer inquiries
- Process sales orders, invoices, returns, and payments accurately
- Prepare detailed quotes and follow up on open opportunities
- Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities within orders
- Support contractor accounts with pricing, product recommendations, and availability
- Coordinate with yard staff for accurate and timely order fulfillment
- Communicate with purchasing regarding stock levels and special orders
- Assist outside sales representatives with order entry and account support
- Maintain accurate customer records and activity tracking
- Handle customer concerns and resolve issues promptly

Qualifications
- 2–3+ years of customer service or inside sales experience (building materials preferred)
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient with computers and order-entry systems
- Self-motivated and results-driven
