About the Role
We are currently hiring an Automotive Service Technician for a reputable automotive repair facility in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia.
This opportunity is open to both 310S Licensed Automotive Service Technicians and registered 310S Apprentices (Level 1–4). Whether you have dealership experience, independent shop experience, or are currently completing your apprenticeship, we encourage you to apply.
The successful candidate will perform vehicle inspections, maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs while working alongside an experienced team in a professional and supportive environment.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance including oil changes, tire rotations, brake services, fluid replacements, and scheduled maintenance.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, steering, suspension, braking, engine, and drivability concerns.
- Use scan tools and diagnostic equipment to identify vehicle issues and recommend repairs.
- Repair or replace automotive components including brakes, suspension, steering, batteries, cooling systems, exhaust systems, and other mechanical parts.
- Complete vehicle inspections and identify recommended repairs and maintenance.
- Perform road tests before and after repairs when required.
- Accurately complete repair orders and document findings.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Properly use and maintain shop equipment and diagnostic tools.
- Work collaboratively with service advisors and fellow technicians to complete repairs efficiently.
- Follow workplace safety procedures and quality standards.
- Apprentices will work under the guidance of licensed technicians while continuing to develop their technical skills and apprenticeship hours.
Qualifications
- 310S Automotive Service Technician Licence is preferred.
- Registered 310S Apprentices (Level 1–4) are strongly encouraged to apply.
- Previous experience performing automotive maintenance and repairs.
- Experience with diagnostics is considered an asset but not mandatory.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Valid driver's licence is considered an asset.
- Own tools are preferred but not mandatory.
- Positive attitude, reliability, and strong work ethic.
