Overview
We are looking for people that can work in Markham in the Woodbine Ave and 14th Ave area.
You will be working in a manufacturing environment where tubing components are made. You will be maintaining and helping to repair the machinery in the workplace. Some of the machines include mills, burr oak and Rattunde. You will be provided with on the job training.
Training will happen on the day shift, then you will likely be transferred to work on night shift
Responsibilities
- Must know all relevant SSOP and MWI for the department and equipment they are operating.
- Troubleshoots, maintains and repairs production machinery to ensure an effective maintenance system and achieve the highest performance of production equipment.
- Diagnoses problems and troubleshoots hydraulic and pneumatic systems for the production equipment.
- Performs gas and electric welding.
- Ensures that all work and inspections are properly documented and communicated, for example, but not limited: related work details, changes to the equipment, and health and safety issues.
- Sets up and operates maintenance machinery.
- Works under general supervision and follows all safety precautions and procedures.
- Ensures all shop equipment is located up at the end of the shift and all hand tools and materials have been returned to designated safe storage areas.
- Flexible to work shifts as assigned.
- Must keep work areas neat and tidy at all times.
- Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
- Millwright Certificate 433A
- 5 years experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems preferred
- Must be able to communicate in both written and spoken English.
- Must be able to work independently and as a team player.
- Must demonstrate patience and consistent attention to detail.
- Must have good organizational skills and be a self-starter.
- Ability to read blueprints, use precision instruments (Imperial and Metric).
- Ability to read and interpret Hydraulic and Pneumatic schematics.
- Completion of a criminal background check as required by CTPAT requirements.
- Demonstrates a positive attitude towards safety and models safety for other employees at all times.
- Understand that it is mandatory to use and/or wear all personal protective equipment provided by the Company.
- Reports all accidents, incidents and near misses and supports in determining corrective actions to eliminate workplace hazards.
- Practices safe work habits
Pay: $40.00-$45.00 per hour
