ABOUT THE BUSY SCHOOL
The BUSY School Calgary is a newly approved Charter School opening in August 2026, created to re-engage young people in Grades 10 to 12 who have stepped away from traditional education. We combine a high school diploma pathway with real-world vocational training, giving students the skills, confidence, and connections they need to launch into meaningful careers. We are mission-driven, relationship-first, and genuinely different.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Teacher Aide, you will work alongside our teaching team to support students in Grades 10 to 12 who are on their journey back to education. You will provide hands-on learning support, help students navigate classroom activities, and contribute to a positive, encouraging environment where every student feels seen and supported.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Support individual students and small groups with learning activities under teacher guidance
- Assist students in following instructions, organising materials, and staying engaged in class
- Prepare and manage classroom equipment and resources
- Build positive, trusting relationships with students that foster independence and self-worth
- Report on student progress and contribute to team discussions about student support
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold the highest standards of student safety and wellbeing
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
- Experience in education support, youth work, or a related field (desirable)
- Qualifications in education support or similar (desirable, not essential)
- A genuine understanding of the challenges faced by disengaged young people
- Strong communication skills and the ability to connect with a diverse range of students
- A self-starter attitude with the ability to manage multiple tasks calmly and effectively
- A team-first mindset and a positive, can-do approach
