Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Assistant Restaurant Manager to support the daily operations of Tavern at the Gallery. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food service, and team leadership. This role involves overseeing staff, ensuring excellent customer service, and assisting with overall restaurant operations to deliver a memorable dining experience.
Duties
- Assist the Restaurant Manager in supervising daily restaurant operations, including staff scheduling and performance management
- Manage customer service interactions to guarantee guest satisfaction
- Handle cash transactions and POS systems such as Micros POS accurately and efficiently
- Supervise food handling procedures to comply with food safety regulations
- Lead team members by providing training and supporting team management initiatives
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas in accordance with health standards
- Assist with inventory control, ordering supplies, and maintaining stock levels
- Support staff during busy periods, including serving guests when necessary
- Uphold hospitality standards and foster a positive work environment for all team members
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant management, preferably with supervising responsibilities within a fast-paced environment is desirable
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on guest satisfaction
- Leadership skills demonstrated through team management and training experience
- Strong knowledge of food preparation and food safety protocols
- Experience with POS systems
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and responsibly
- Effective communication skills and ability to work well under pressure
- French is a must
