Job Overview
We are seeking a professional and organized Dental Receptionist to join our dental practice in Markham (Kennedy Rd/Denison St). The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, managing front desk operations with efficiency and a friendly demeanor. This role requires strong administrative skills, familiarity with dental office procedures, and the ability to handle multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. Experience with dental software, along with knowledge of medical terminology, is highly preferred. The Dental Receptionist will play a vital role in ensuring smooth patient flow, accurate record keeping, and excellent customer service.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and manage patient check-in and check-out processes
- Schedule appointments efficiently using dental practice management software
- Verify patient insurance information and update medical records accordingly
- Answer multi-line phone systems promptly and professionally, directing calls as needed
- Collect payments and process billing in accordance with office policies
- Maintain accurate patient records, including medical history and treatment notes
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and correspondence
- Coordinate with dental staff to ensure timely patient care delivery
- Handle patient inquiries regarding appointments, billing, and insurance coverage
- Ensure the reception area remains clean, organized, and welcoming
Experience
- Previous experience as a dental receptionist or in a medical office setting is highly desirable
- Proficiency with dental practice management software is preferred
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology relevant to dentistry and healthcare
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in record keeping
- Ability to manage multi-line phone systems efficiently
- Prior office experience in a fast-paced environment demonstrating strong administrative skills
Requirements
- Availability on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday
- Proficiency in Cantonese and/or Mandarin is an asset
