Code Ninjas is a coding school for kids with locations across the Lower Mainland. Kids ages 5-15 learn in a fun, safe environment with "Code Senseis" to build tech skills, confidence, and problem-solving abilities. Our promise: kids have fun, parents see results.
About this role
This role is about one thing: making sure every kid in the room is engaged, supported, and having a great time. Coding knowledge lives with other staff. Your superpower is the room itself.
We pair every Classroom Lead with a dedicated coding instructor who mainly handles the curriculum and technical questions. That means you can focus entirely on what you do best: keeping kids motivated, managing the energy in the room, and making this a place they love coming back to.
What you'll own
- Room energy. Kids should walk in and immediately feel the excitement. You set that tone from the moment they arrive.
- Behaviour management. De-escalate, redirect, and handle difficult moments calmly without disrupting the rest of the class.
- Student relationships. Remember names, interests, and wins. Be the person kids are excited to see again next week.
- Parent touchpoints. Warm, confident hellos and goodbyes. Keep families feeling connected to what their kid is building.

Pay for this role starts at $20 and are negotiable based on skills and performance. The upper end is for candidates who go beyond showing up. They shape the entire classroom experience.
That means:
- Decorating and maintaining a space that kids are genuinely excited to walk into
- Planning activities, games, and programs that keep students engaged between coding sessions
- Coordinating Pro D day camps, special events, and seasonal programs
- Proactively building the kind of classroom culture that makes kids beg their parents to come back

Your starting wage is not your final wage. We review compensation regularly and reward staff who demonstrate initiative, consistency, and impact in the classroom. If you show up and make a difference, we want that reflected in your pay.
Who we're looking for
- Real experience with kids. Teaching, coaching, tutoring, camp, childcare, youth work, anything that counts.
- You can read a room. You know when a kid is bored, frustrated, or overwhelmed before it becomes a problem.
- Patient and consistent. The kid who acts out every session still deserves your best.
- Warm with parents. Professional but genuinely friendly.
- Reliable, and able to bring energy even on slow days.
- Clear, confident, and engaging communicator
Coding experience is not required. Training will be provided on site.
