We are seeking an energetic, reliable, and experienced Basketball Coach to join our Summer Camp team during July and August. The ideal candidate is passionate about youth development, possesses strong basketball fundamentals, and can create a positive, engaging, and motivating environment for young athletes.
This position involves leading basketball instruction, skill development activities, team games, and camp programming for children and youth of various ages and skill levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise basketball training sessions and camp activities.
- Teach fundamental basketball skills, including dribbling, passing, shooting, footwork, and game concepts.
- Create a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment.
- Encourage participation, confidence, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
- Effectively engage and motivate children and youth throughout daily activities.
- Assist with organizing drills, games, and competitions.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants.
- Communicate professionally with camp staff, parents, and participants.
Qualifications
Required:
- Minimum 1 year of basketball coaching experience.
- Previous experience playing on a competitive basketball team (school, club, collegiate, or equivalent).
- Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals and game concepts.
- Ability to effectively engage, motivate, and inspire children and youth.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Valid First Aid Certification.
- Flexible summer availability is accepted; however, coaches must be able to commit to complete camp weeks during July and/or August. Partial-week or single-day availability will not be considered.
Preferred:
- NCCP Coaching Certification or other recognized basketball coaching credentials.
- Experience working in youth camps, sports programs, or recreational settings.
- Additional certifications related to coaching, sports performance, or youth development.
Pay: $25.00 per hour
