Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Bookkeeper to join our team in our South Surrey head office. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting background, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage day-to-day bookkeeping functions with accuracy and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain complete and accurate financial records.
- Record and reconcile daily financial transactions.
- Prepare bank, credit card, and account reconciliations.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Process payroll and maintain payroll records, as required.
- Prepare GST/HST, PST, and other required tax filings.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
- Prepare financial reports and support the preparation of financial statements.
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
- Work closely with management and external accountants during audits and year-end reporting.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in a senior bookkeeping role.
- Experience with Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) is preferred.
- Previous accounting or bookkeeping experience in a wholesale, distribution, manufacturing, or inventory-driven business environment is strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of bookkeeping principles and accounting practices.
- Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or similar accounting systems.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality.
