The Opportunity:
Our client, a leading and fast-expanding Dental Service Organization (DSO) with 50+ clinics across Canada, is seeking an Insurance & Audit Coordinator to proactively manage insurance processes, support clinic teams, and improve billing compliance across the network. This role plays a critical part in minimizing claim issues, preventing revenue leakage, and ensuring consistent adherence to insurance protocols.
Ideal for a detail-oriented professional with hands-on experience in dental insurance and billing, this role combines proactive oversight with hands-on training and audit responsibilities. The successful candidate will build relationships with clinic teams, identify recurring issues, and implement solutions that improve operational effectiveness and patient trust.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Monitor and manage insurance processes across the clinic network to ensure consistency, accuracy, and compliance
- Conduct regular audits of clinic billing and insurance practices, identifying trends and areas for correction or training
- Serve as a resource and subject-matter expert to clinic teams on insurance claim submissions, rejections, and appeals
- Collaborate with operations and administrative staff to resolve insurance issues before they become systemic
- Provide timely training and hands-on coaching to clinic teams to ensure best practices in insurance billing
- Partner with the finance and revenue teams to investigate anomalies and improve collections related to insurance
- Develop and maintain SOPs and reference guides to standardize insurance management practices
- Identify recurring or systemic issues and work cross-functionally to address root causes through policy or workflow changes
- Support the onboarding of new clinics or staff by ensuring alignment with insurance expectations and protocols
- Maintain accurate records of audit findings, training efforts, and clinic-level improvements
- Stay current on insurance trends, changes in carrier rules, and dental industry best practices
- Participate in the development of internal training materials, tools, and resources to support continuous improvement
What You'll Need to Be Successful:
- 3–5+ years of experience in dental insurance billing, coordination, or administration
- Strong knowledge of dental insurance processes, claim submission requirements, and billing codes
- Experience conducting audits or reviews of insurance or billing practices
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset with strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication and coaching skills, with the ability to work effectively with clinic staff and leadership
- Strong organizational and time management abilities, capable of managing multiple priorities across a large network
- Comfort working independently while collaborating cross-functionally with Operations, Finance, and Training teams
- Working knowledge of dental practice management software and insurance systems
- Ability to travel occasionally to clinic locations for on-site support and audits, as needed
Compensation Range: 60-75K base salary
Pay: $60,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
