Sandpiper is a Vancouver-based family office and private equity firm focused on private acquisition opportunities and strategic equity investments. Since inception in September 2016, we have built momentum with several strategies and portfolio company investments and are seeking to augment our team.
POSITION SUMMARY
We are currently recruiting for an Associate for our Capital Markets & Investor Relations team. The Associate will be part of a dynamic team and provide day-to-day support and will report directly to the Director of Capital Markets & Investor Relations. Additionally, the Associate will contribute to various functions within our Finance team. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Support the trade execution of our public security investments
· Carry out daily treasury responsibilities related to cash balance management and margin loan analysis
· Perform end of day summary analysis on key quantitative metrics of the public security investments
· Prepare financial reporting, investor statement and other miscellaneous documents to key stakeholders
· Act as point of contact for investors and maintain our investor CRM system
· Coordinate and perform special projects as requested
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
· Mandatory: Minimum 1-year of trade execution and support experience at institutional level, with preference to candidates with experience in investment fund/private equity sectors and/or investor service firms
· Mandatory: Completion of the Canadian Securities Course and/or Exempt Market Dealer Course
· Mandatory: Currently registered as a Dealing Representative with CIRO
· Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or a related field
· Must be available to work during TSX market hours (6:00am – 2:30pm PST) and non-TSX holidays, inclusive of a 1-hour unpaid lunch break (37.5 paid hours per week)
· Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex investment concepts to investors
· Strong knowledge and understanding of the public securities markets
· Highly organized and strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy
· Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office product suite
· Experience with CRM and investor service platforms
BENEFITS
· Base salary between $75,000 - $78,000 plus an annual bonus that is based on a combination of personal achievement and company performance
