Responsibilities
- Create a safe, welcoming classroom environment that promotes exploration and learning for children of various ages and abilities.
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that support cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.
- Provide attentive caregiving by meeting individual needs, including feeding, diapering, and comforting children as required.
- Support children with diverse needs, including those with disabilities, by adapting activities and providing personalized assistance.
- Foster positive relationships with children and their families through clear communication and regular updates on progress.
- Maintain accurate records of daily activities, developmental milestones, and behavioral observations.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum plans that align with early childhood education standards and best practices.
Requirements
- Certified Alberta Early Childcare Certification : Level 1,2 or 3
- First Aid and Standard CPR Certification
- Vulnerable Sector Check
- Proven experience working with children in educational or caregiving settings.
- Strong knowledge of early childhood education principles and development stages.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs is highly desirable.
- Excellent caregiving skills combined with patience, empathy, and enthusiasm for teaching young children.
- Classroom experience that demonstrates the ability to manage group activities effectively.
- Ability to follow safety protocols diligently to ensure a secure environment for all children.
