On behalf of our Banking client, Procom is searching for a Solution Architect - Kubernetes with GKE & Azure AKS for a 5 month contract role. This position is a hybrid position with 2 days onsite at our client’s Toronto office.
Solution Architect - Kubernetes with GKE & Azure AKS - Job Description:
The project contributes to the overall success of the Cloud Security Engineering function by ensuring the long-term technical vision and roadmap is defined and maintained, focusing on future development, scalability, security, resiliency, and platform modernization. The role involves building out the foundations for the bank’s Cloud Security infrastructure and services globally.
Solution Architect - Kubernetes with GKE & Azure AKS - Responsibilities:
- Design and implement enterprise-grade cloud infrastructure and Kubernetes platforms on GCP GKE and Azure AKS environments.
- Develop and maintain reusable Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform for automation across multi-cloud environments.
- Implement scalable, secure, and highly available Kubernetes solutions, including networking, ingress, autoscaling, observability, and disaster recovery capabilities.
- Design and integrate CI/CD and GitOps workflows to support automated application deployment and infrastructure governance.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams while driving cloud platform standards and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with security, networking, and application teams to implement cloud security best practices.
- Continuously refine and enhance deployment processes, onboarding workflows, and implementation guidelines.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including architecture diagrams and operational procedures.
- Establish effective working relationships across multiple technology and business partners.
Solution Architect - Kubernetes with GKE & Azure AKS - Mandatory Skills:
- 10+ years of relevant IT and business industry work experience.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with solution architecture delivering Kubernetes platforms using GKE and Azure AKS.
- Advanced proficiency with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices.
- Recent experience in GCP and Azure Cloud services including networking, IAM, load balancing, storage, and security services.
- Experience implementing CI/CD and GitOps workflows using tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Argo CD, Helm, or similar automation platforms.
- Experience with Cloud and Kubernetes security best practices including RBAC, workload identity, secrets management, vulnerability management, and policy enforcement.
Solution Architect - Kubernetes with GKE & Azure AKS – Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Strong knowledge of containerization technologies including Docker and Kubernetes networking.
- Strong scripting and automation skills using Python, Bash, or similar languages.
- Solid knowledge of cybersecurity principles, risk management, and compliance frameworks.
- Recent experience with Top 5 Banks of FI.
- Cloud certifications – GCP / Azure.

The contract duration is from 07/01/2026 to 10/31/2026, with the possibility of extension based on performance and business needs.
