About Us
Orchard City Electric Ltd. is a growing electrical contracting company based in Kelowna, BC. We work across residential and light commercial projects — new builds, renovations, and service calls throughout the Okanagan. We're a small, tight-knit team and we're growing on purpose.
That matters for you as an apprentice. Small team means you're actually on the tools — not fetching coffee and sweeping up while the journeymen do all the real work. You'll be paired directly with a journeyman and working through real scopes on real projects from day one.
The Role
We're looking for two motivated 2nd or 3rd year apprentice electricians who are serious about their trade and ready to put in the work. You'll be paired with a journeyman on residential and commercial jobs — new construction, renovations, and service work. You'll learn by doing, not by watching.
We're not a company that treats apprentices as cheap labour. We need people who want to become excellent electricians, and we'll invest in getting you there.
What You'll Be Doing
- Working alongside a journeyman electrician on active job sites
- Running wire, installing devices, fixtures, panels, and conduit
- Learning the full scope of residential and light commercial electrical work
- Developing real field skills across new construction, renovation, and service
- Representing Orchard City Electric professionally on site
What We're Looking For
- Registered 2nd or 3rd year apprentice electrician with SkilledTradesBC (required)
- Valid BC Class 5 driver's license (required — you'll need to get yourself to site)
- Someone who shows up ready to work and takes the trade seriously
- Willing to learn, ask questions, and take direction from a journeyman
- Dependable — we're a small team and everyone counts
