We are presently seeking a Manager to oversee staff in all aspects of the Deli-Trattoria operations in addition to a general oversight function regarding all business segments, (i.e. grocery, cash, general merchandising).
He/she will be responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction, consistency in the preparation and presentation of menu items, and that all aspects of the business are maintained and executed professionally and to the highest possible standard within the guidelines of company policies and procedures.
The incumbent will be the main point of contact for Deli Staff scheduling, training, and development and will assist management in hiring and performance management as needed.
Responsibilities include:
- Ensuring that the objectives of the Italian Market are communicated, understood, and met by the front-of-house staff
- Coordinating the work of the Deli Staff, liaising with kitchen staff, and ensuring that the front-of-house runs smoothly
- Ensuring the consistent adherence to opening and closing duties and daily/weekly cleaning schedules; participates in creation/updates of same
- Working together with management to hire new staff and ensuring that they receive orientation and training on the technical and service aspects of the job (professional table service, dining room preparation, barista training, food preparation, etc)
- Working with management to ensure that front-of-house staff understand their job roles, responsibilities, and performance expectations, giving constructive feedback when necessary
- Ensuring that each and every guest of the Italian Market is satisfied with the service/food and addressing concerns, requests, or issues either individually or by enlisting the help of others
- Acting as a “bridge” between management and the Deli Staff to facilitate department operation keeping all parties appraised of activities, issues, challenges, recommendations
- Enforcing compliance of the front-of-house staff to the standards of food handling and occupational health and safety legislation
- Collaborating with management to recognize and celebrate excellence in high performance
- Working hands-on during day-to-day service whilst overseeing front-of-house operations including conducting shift briefings, ensuring shift coverage, and keeping labour costs in line with budget
- Serving as an individual contributor and role model by performing technical and functional job duties of Deli Server at a high level of performance
Pay: $50,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
