HCOS Education Assistants are independent contractors who provide program support, behaviour and academic interventions, and encouragement to Home Learners within the Inclusive Education Department.
The Position:
We are seeking two Education Assistants to work on-site one day per week in our Prince George Community Connections class for the 2026/27 school year. This is a part-time contract position that may grow in hours over the course of the school year, depending on student needs and EA skill sets.
- Location: Prince George, BC
- Grades: 2/3 or 6/7
- Schedule: Thursdays, 8:45 a.m. – 2:15 p.m.
As an Education Assistant, your duties and responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the social, spiritual and academic learning needs of students, providing mentorship to the whole person
- Connecting with students individually or in small groups
- Collaborating with the teaching staff and the parent to support personalized learning opportunities
- Assisting in carrying out IEP goals, working alongside the broader student support team
We are looking for someone with the following qualities:
- Background working in Education, EA Support, Behaviour Intervention, or with children/youth
- Professionals with non-EA specific credentials are encouraged to also apply (e.g., psychology, behaviour analysis, social work, coaching, mathematics, etc.)
- A valid Certified Educational Assistant certificate (or training in process) is considered an asset

- Excellent critical thinking and organizational skills
- Technologically proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Zoom, etc.
