Overview
We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused Optician to join our optical team. The ideal candidate will assist patients in selecting eyewear, provide exceptional customer service, and support the overall operations of our optical practice. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where technical skills and retail experience come together to improve patient vision and satisfaction. Prior experience with optical equipment and retail sales is highly valued.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients in selecting frames and lenses that meet their needs and preferences
- Take precise measurements for eyewear fitting, including pupillary distance and frame size
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining lens options, features, and benefits
- Prepare and verify orders using laboratory equipment and ensure accuracy in lens fabrication
- Support the optical team with inventory management and restocking supplies
- Collaborate with optometrists and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care
Skills
- Licensed Optician in Ontario (required)
- Minimum 3 years of experience in an optical clinic or optical retail environment
- Experience with optical equipment, frame adjustments, and fitting techniques
- Proven retail sales experience and ability to guide patients in selecting optical products
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Fluent in English
- Strong computer skills, including experience with optical software and Microsoft Office
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Professional, friendly, and patient-focused attitude
- Retail management or team leadership experience is an advantage
