Career1 is hiring a Shipper & Receiver for one of our clients in Mississauga. This is an excellent opportunity for an organized and motivated individual with warehouse and forklift experience who is looking for long-term employment.
This is a Temp-to-Perm opportunity. Candidates who demonstrate strong performance will have the opportunity to be hired directly by the client with a competitive benefits package.
Responsibilities
- Receive incoming shipments and verify quantities and product condition.
- Accurately enter received goods into the ERP/inventory management system.
- Load, unload, move, and store materials using forklifts and other material handling equipment.
- Prepare outgoing shipments and ensure shipping documentation is complete.
- Coordinate with pickers and material handlers to ensure smooth warehouse operations.
- Maintain inventory accuracy and support cycle counts.
- Follow FIFO (First In, First Out) inventory practices.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and food safety procedures.
Qualifications Required
- Valid forklift certification.
- Experience operating:
- Counterbalance Forklift
- Raymond Reach Forklift
- Walkie
- Previous experience as a Shipper/Receiver or in warehouse operations.
- Experience using ERP or warehouse management systems.
- Good computer skills.
- Strong English communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Highly organized with a strong sense of urgency.
Preferred
- Food manufacturing or food warehouse experience.
- Knowledge of FIFO inventory practices.
- Understanding of contamination prevention and food safety standards.
