Job Summary
The Medical Office Assistant (MOA) plays a vital role in supporting the daily operations of a healthcare facility. This position involves providing exceptional patient service, managing administrative tasks, and ensuring smooth clinic workflows. The MOA acts as a liaison between patients and healthcare providers, contributing to a positive and efficient healthcare experience.
Duties
- Room patients and assist with check-in and check-out procedures
- Schedule appointments and manage patient calendars
- Collect and verify patient information and insurance details
- Prepare and update patient records accurately in electronic health systems
- Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and provide excellent patient quality of care
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area and exam rooms
- Support healthcare providers with clinical tasks as needed, such as taking vital signs or preparing exam rooms, sending/ receiving patient information
- Provide coverage during colleagues absences/ holidays
- Completing tasks/ duties in timely manner
- Assume other clinic duties as assigned
Requirements
- Medical Assistant experience required
- Ability to start promptly is required
- Proficiency with Accuro EMR, Netcare, Connect Care and Autoclave Sterilization would all be assets
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
- Positive attitude, professional appearance, and strong customer service orientation
