Job Summary
The Installer is responsible for the field installation, wiring, and physical setup of electronic security, access control, surveillance, paging, and light commercial audio-visual systems. This role requires executing installations efficiently, maintaining clean and safe work environments, and ensuring all work meets the high-quality craftsmanship standards of our company.
Core Responsibilities
- Low-Voltage Cabling: Pulling, routing, and dressing structural electronic cable and fiber optics in commercial and residential environments.
- Hardware Installation: Mounting and physically installing field devices including card readers, door hardware, IP cameras, intercoms, paging horns, and AV components.
- System Wiring & Termination: Executing basic wiring, panel terminations, and device connections for low-voltage systems.
- Testing & Diagnostics: Operating cable testers, multi-meters, and basic diagnostic equipment to verify line integrity and device connectivity.
- Project Efficiency: Meeting scheduled installation deadlines and working productively alongside the installation team.
- Documentation & Tracking: Maintaining accurate daily records including time sheets, service/installation tickets, and material/inventory usage.
- Safety Compliance: Strict adherence to company safety policies, customer site-specific safety programs, and proper operation of power tools.
Scope of Systems & Technology
The installer will regularly work with the following core systems and manufacturing partners:
- Access Control & Security: Integrated Door Access, Card Access, Alarms, and Entry Systems (ICT Protege, Salto).
- Surveillance & Intercoms: IP Video Surveillance, Intercoms, and Smart Property Valet Systems (Axis, 1Valet, Mosino).
- Paging & Audio-Visual: Commercial paging, intercom systems, and light AV/distributed audio environments (Sonos, Audac).
Accountability
The Installer reports directly to the Operations Coordinator. Secondary accountability is to the project management team, senior technicians, and company customers.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent certification.
- Experience: Proven working knowledge or technical training in low-voltage electronics, structured cabling, or security systems installation is highly desired.
- Travel: Ability to accommodate occasional out-of-town travel for specific project deployments.
- Licensing: Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

- Technical Aptitude: Familiarity with power tools, construction environments, and the ability to read basic floor plans or system schematics.
- Communication & Professionalism: Solid verbal and written communication skills; strong customer service focus when interacting with clients on-site.
- Organization: Self-motivated with the ability to manage time effectively and handle changing task priorities on active jobsites.
- Physical Demands: Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, work in tight spaces (such as ceilings or server closets), and lift/carry installation equipment and tools. Most work is indoors, with occasional exposure to outdoor seasonal weather.
Pay: $20.00-$32.50 per hour
