Nupqu Resource LP is a rapidly growing business, proudly owned by member communities of the Ktunaxa Nation since 2009. With offices in Cranbrook, Castlegar and Fernie, BC, Nupqu conducts a wide variety of work: providing forestry, environmental, contract administration, first aid and general labor related consulting services to a number of clients throughout the Ktunaxa Traditional Territory.
We are seeking a certified OFA Level 3 / Advanced First Aid (AFA) Attendant to provide on-site medical coverage for active mine and construction sites. Work varies in location and durations, and the successful candidate must be comfortable adapting to changing environments and schedules. This is a hands-on, field-based position suited to a self-motivated professional who takes ownership of workplace health and safety.
These positions will consist of up to full time employment managed out of the Fernie office (duration of contract will be negotiated depending on applicants' availability & contract needs). The successful candidate should look to have relevant experience and qualifications which align with the roles and responsibilities outlined below.
Roles and Responsibilities:
· Minimum of 18 years of age.
· Provide primary emergency medical response and first aid coverage for all on-site personnel.
· Conduct daily assessment and maintenance of first aid stations, equipment, and supplies in compliance with WorkSafeBC regulations.
· Liaise with site supervisors and safety personnel to support a safe working environment
· Participate in pre-job hazard assessments, toolbox talks, and safety meetings
· Transport injured workers and coordinate with external medical services when required
· Travel daily to remote exploration/construction sites
Qualifications:
Preference will be given to applicants with:
· Current OFA Level 3 or Advanced First Aid Certificate. (Required)
· Transport Endorsement
· Transportation of Dangerous Goods
· H2S Alive, WHMIS
· Valid Class 5 driver's license
· Experience as a First Aid Attendant on an industrial site.
· First Aid Report Writing is an asset.
· Knowledge of WCB Standards and Regulations.
· Proven safety track record & experience driving on resource roads.
· Outstanding communication skills.
· Self-motivated and safety-oriented team player.
· Competence with various computer programs, imputing and managing data (MS Office - Excel and Word).
Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Schedule:
- 10 hour shift
- 12 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Varying (7 days on, 7 days off)
