Career Opportunity
ISE is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our Engineering team!
Reporting to the Mechanical Engineering Manager, you’ll play a key role in the design, engineering and product maturity of our vehicles by contributing to structural analysis, simulations, and testing to ensure compliance with performance, safety, and quality standards. You will collaborate with a variety of teams, manage technical risks, and maintain thorough documentation throughout the project lifecycle. Key Responsibilities
- Support the design, development, and integration of mechanical systems for ROVs, AUVs, and subsea tooling, including detailed CAD models, Bills of Materials (BOMS) and technical specifications.
- Present and participate in engineering design reviews to ensure compliance with subsea performance, reliability, and safety requirements.
- Solve complex technical challenges related to pressure housings, sealing, corrosion resistance, and hydrodynamics.
- Perform structural and mechanical analyses (FEA and classical methods) for pressure, fatigue, and dynamic loading conditions.
- Plan and execute simulations, lab testing, and in-water trials to validate performance in marine environments.
- Support system integration, assembly, and commissioning of subsea vehicles and launch and recovery systems.
- Adhere to project scope, timelines, and budgets while identifying and mitigating technical risks.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver fully integrated subsea systems.
- Maintain accurate documentation of designs, analyses, and design changes.
- Prepare and present verification and validation evidence for testing, sea trials, and client acceptance.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, or equivalent job experience.
- 5+ years of professional experience as a Licensed Professional Engineer.
- Experience with SolidWorks and AutoCAD software.
- Experience with static and dynamic structural FEA tools.
- Proficient in creating, reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge of current industry relevant safety regulations and standards.
- Hold a valid Canadian passport.
- Ability to reliably commute to the workplace and travel internationally.
Security Requirements
All candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain Canadian Controlled Goods and Canadian Government Security clearances.
