Job Summary
We are currently seeking a Junior to Intermediate Structural Engineer for our Vancouver office. This position will be involved the design and field supervision of building projects as well as bridges and industrial structures in conjunction with CWMM's senior staff. The ideal candidate is someone comfortable with coordinating and direct responding to clients while being able to work independently and collaboratively. A detailed-oriented person with a data-driven mindset, who is reliable and loves to conquer challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participating in the initial planning and bidding processes, which include preparing and reviewing documents, reports, or other relevant information.
- Developing structural design drawings based on clients’ needs and requirements and performing on-site field reviews.
- Building strong relationships with clients in a professional manner.
- Creating structural overviews and managing different projects with time constraints.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Key Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree or a master’s degree in civil engineering with an emphasis on structural design from a recognized university.
- Registered or eligible to register as a P. Eng. with Engineers & Geoscientists BC or registered as an EIT in BC with eligibility to register as a P.Eng. in 1-2 years.
- Registered with a Struct.Eng. in BC will be an asset.
- Minimum of 3-10 years of working experience in structural design of building structures or related fields.
- Experience and proficiency working with Canadian building codes and material design standards preferred.
- Working Knowledge of structural analysis and design software such as ETABS, SAFE, SAP2000, RISA, and Woodworks would be an asset.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or REVIT will be an asset but not essential.
