Ehvert Mission Critical, a business unit within Salas O’Brien, is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer with extensive SKM PowerTools expertise to lead the design and analysis of electrical systems for hyperscale and AI data centers throughout the United States and Canada. This is a remote opportunity with an internationally recognized engineering firm specializing in mission-critical infrastructure.
As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will serve as a technical leader responsible for complex power system studies, electrical design, and engineering quality across multiple projects. You will mentor engineers, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and help develop innovative solutions for some of the industry's most advanced mission-critical facilities.

What You Will Do
- Lead electrical system design and advanced power system studies using SKM PowerTools
- Perform and review short-circuit, protective device coordination, arc-flash, load flow, and reliability analyses
- Develop electrical system designs for MV/LV distribution, UPS systems, standby generators, and mission-critical infrastructure
- Review and approve engineering calculations, technical reports, design documentation, and specifications
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior and intermediate engineers
- Coordinate with clients, project managers, and multidisciplinary engineering teams throughout project delivery
- Ensure compliance with NEC, IEEE, CSA, and international electrical standards
- Participate in design reviews, quality assurance processes, and value engineering initiatives
- Support commissioning, construction administration, and complex technical problem-solving during project execution
What We Expect
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering
- 15+ years of electrical engineering experience, including significant experience with mission-critical, industrial, utility, or hyperscale data center projects
- Expert-level proficiency with SKM PowerTools (ETAP and EasyPower experience is an asset)
- Strong knowledge of MV/LV electrical distribution, UPS systems, generators, protection systems, and redundancy architectures
- Thorough understanding of NEC, IEEE, CSA, and international electrical codes and standards
- Experience with Autodesk Revit and BIM coordination
- Knowledge of Neher-McGrath ductbank ampacity studies is considered an asset
- Demonstrated experience leading engineering teams and mentoring junior staff
- Excellent communication, leadership, client-facing, and problem-solving skills
- Authorization to work in Canada
