Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Construction Labourer to join our fast-growing team.
Sim Shacks builds high-quality, custom backyard golf simulator sheds that deliver a true golf-course experience in the comfort of home. This role involves supporting construction projects through physical labor, assisting skilled tradespeople, and ensuring the smooth progress of various building activities. The ideal candidate will be reliable, safety-conscious, and eager to learn about construction processes. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the construction industry and contribute to diverse projects ranging from residential to commercial developments.
Duties
- Assist with site preparation, including unloading materials and setting up equipment
- Assist in all phases of backyard golf simulator shed construction, including framing, insulation, drywall, flooring, and finishing work
- Perform general labor such as digging, lifting, carrying, and cleaning work areas
- Support skilled tradespeople by providing tools and materials as needed
- Operate basic construction tools under supervision and ensure proper maintenance
- Follow safety protocols at all times to maintain a secure work environment
- Help with the installation of structures, framing, or other building components
- Maintain a clean and organized job site to promote efficiency and safety
- Assist in loading and unloading materials and equipment throughout the project lifecycle
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions
- Strong work ethic with a focus on safety and attention to detail
- Reliable transportation and punctuality are essential
- Prior experience in construction or manual labor is a plus but not mandatory; training will be provided for those eager to learn
- Ability to follow instructions carefully and work effectively as part of a team
- 2–5 years of experience in construction, carpentry, or renovation work preferred (training provided for the right candidate).
Safety Requirements
- CSA-approved safety boots and PPE required.
- WHMIS, Working at Heights, or First Aid certification considered an asset (can be arranged).
