Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and empathetic, trauma informed Social Work to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with individuals and couples affected by occupational stress, trauma, and life transitions. This role involves providing direct therapeutic services, conducting assessments, and developing personalized treatment plans to help clients build coping strategies and improve their quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and couples counselling using evidence-based therapeutic approaches.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to understand clients' mental health concerns and needs.
- Develop and implement treatment plans tailored to clients' unique circumstances.
- Support clients experiencing occupational stress injuries, trauma, anxiety, depression, and other life challenges.
- Utilize modalities such as Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), or other relevant approaches.
- Maintain accurate and confidential clinical documentation in accordance with professional and ethical standards.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and community resources when necessary.
- Stay updated with best practices, continuing education, and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, or a related field.
- Registered and in good standing with a relevant professional regulatory body (e.g., College of Social Workers).
- Must be certified in a trauma.processing modality (CPT, EMDR etc).
- Minimum of 4 years of clinical experience in mental health counselling.
- Specialized training or experience in trauma-informed care, occupational stress injuries, or couples therapy is an asset.
- Documented experience working with the first responder /public safety personnel.
- Strong understanding of mental health disorders, stress management, and coping strategies.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Proficiency in maintaining clinical records and using digital practice management tools.
