Substitute Playschool Teacher
Capilano Playschool is seeking caring, energetic, and reliable substitute teachers to join our playschool community. This casual/on-call position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with young children in a playful, nurturing, and engaging learning environment.
About the Role
As a substitute teacher, you will step into the classroom as needed (often with limited notice) to support our regular teaching staff. As much as possible, you will retain classroom routines and activities, and will warmly engage the students (aged 3-5).
Responsibilities
- Follow the “sub plans” left by the teacher
- Support play-based learning experiences
- Maintain a safe, caring, and inclusive environment
- Communicate positively with children, staff, and parents
- Follow classroom procedures & attendance records, and playschool & licensing policies
Qualifications
- ECE Level 3 or accredited teacher.
- Current First Aid/CPR certification
- Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check required
- Warm, dependable, and flexible personality
- Ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff

- Casual/on-call substitute position
- 8:30AM - 11:30AM
- Located in Hardisty School
- Wage: $28.62/hour (including government top-up)
