The Oetjgoapeniag Elnoei Family Services Agency is seeking qualified individuals to fill the position of Social Worker or Social Work Technician within the Child Welfare / Child Protection Program. This position is based in the community of Elsipogtog First Nation, New Brunswick.
Position Summary: Under the direction of the Program Supervisor, the successful candidate will provide services within Child Protection Services. The primary role will be within the Child Protection Program. Training, mentorship, and ongoing support will be provided. An after-hours emergency services rotation is required, in one-week increments several times per year.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Social Worker (SW) / Social Work Technician (SWT): Social Service Community Worker (SSCW) diploma, or Bachelor's/Masters in Social Work.
- Registration or eligibility for registration with the New Brunswick Association of Social Workers is required for both Social Worker (SW) and Social Work Technician positions (SWT).
- Genuine interest in working within Mi'kmaq culture.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage
- Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check
What the job involves:
- Provide child protection services within the Child Welfare/Child Protection Program
- Work under the direction of a Program Supervisor
- Focus primarily on child protection cases.
- Participate in training, mentorship, and ongoing support.
- Take part in an after-hours emergency on-call rotation (one-week blocks, several times per year)

Employment details: This is a full-time, fixed-term contract position for 12 months with the possibility of an extension or permanent full-time employment.
Compensation:
- $85,827-$110,502/year (includes 15% premium + 2.6% COLA, both calculated on base salary).
