DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Ensuring all invoices have appropriate approvals, entering them and paying in on schedule to avoid penalties and interest
· Preparation and analysis of monthly financial statements
· Daily bank reconciliations
· Ability to manage and analyze cash requirements
· Preparing Government remittances (HST, source deductions, etc.)
· Biweekly payroll preparation for assigned companies
· Preparation of bank deposits as needed
· Record daily revenue and perform all tasks required to ensure accuracy
· Daily review of ledgers and balance sheet to ensure accuracy
· Assist in developing budgets for various departments as required
· Responsible for financial accuracy and completeness of all assigned companies
· Ensuring that all journal entries for assigned companies are posted within two days of receipt.
· Reporting to the Director of Finance on all of the above within the required time frame.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
· Robust knowledge of basic finance principles and Canadian financial regulations
· Proficiency in MS Excel and common accounting software (e.g. Sage 50 (Canadian Edition))
· Strong analytical and numerical skills
· Attention to detail and an eye for accuracy
· Effective communication and the ability to work in a team
· Great interpersonal skills that enable the Bookkeeper to clearly and effectively communicate with other employees
· The ability to work on multiple projects while adhering to tight deadlines
· The ability to communicate complex financial data with other members
· Good data entry skills
· A strong understanding of math and numbers
· Ability to problem solve and think ahead
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $50,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
