About the Role
Access Signs' three Project Managers currently run projects without a layer between them and the Director of Operations — so escalations (deadline risk, cost overruns, change orders) reach leadership directly, regardless of how routine they are. This role exists to fix that.
The Senior Project Manager runs their own portfolio of the company's most complex, highest-value projects, while also serving as the first point of contact for the rest of the PM team. It's a player-coach role: hands-on delivery plus absorbing and resolving the day-to-day judgment calls that don't need to reach the Director of Operations or the CEO.

(always first) Senior Project Manager (this role) ↓
(only what can't be resolved here) Director of Operations (Sylvain) ↓
(only true exceptions — contractual, legal, major client-relationship risk) CEO
Key Responsibilities
Own project delivery
- Run a personal portfolio of Access Signs' highest-complexity and highest-value jobs end-to-end — kickoff through closeout — setting the standard for tier-appropriate execution.
Absorb and resolve escalations
- Act as the PM team's first-line contact for deadline risk, cost overruns, change orders, and client-relationship strain. Resolve what's within scope; escalate to the Director of Operations only what genuinely requires it.
Match complexity to capability
- Assign and rebalance incoming projects across the PM team based on each PM's confirmed tier and demonstrated capability, not just availability — closing the current gap where project assignment doesn't account for complexity.
Apply decision-making authority
- Use the PM decision-threshold framework (cost-overrun limits, PO-approval authority, change-order sign-off) once finalized, and help pressure-test it against real project economics.
Develop the team
- Coach PM1s toward PM2 readiness using the confirmed tiering path as a real development framework, not just a label.
Own the PM playbook
- Maintain and continuously improve the core PM process set: contract execution & kickoff, project file structure, permit-tracking coordination (with Logistics & Permitting), client communication standards, change-order process, project health monitoring, and closeout/handoff/warranty handling.
Cross-functional coordination
- Partner with the Director of Operations on production-sequencing and scheduling dependencies, and with Logistics & Permitting on at-risk permit timelines.
Systems
- Work in Monday.com today; help represent the PM function's real workflow needs as the team transitions onto Access Hub, flagging gaps as they surface.
What Success Looks Like
- On-time milestone/delivery reliability across the team's combined project portfolio
- Gross margin / budget protection on assigned and escalated projects
- Change-order capture rate (billed vs. missed)
- Escalation quality: proportion of issues resolved at this level vs. passed up, and how quickly issues get resolved
Qualifications
- 5+ years of project management experience in construction, signage/fabrication, or a related trades/installation environment — sign industry experience is an asset, not a requirement
- Demonstrated experience managing projects involving permits, subcontractors or installation crews, and multiple client stakeholders at once
- Comfortable making real-time cost, schedule, and change-order judgment calls — and knows when a call genuinely needs to go up a level
- Bilingual French/English — day-to-day team and client communication happens in both
- Experience with Monday.com or a comparable PM/ops platform; comfortable adapting to a new internal system (Access Hub) as it rolls out
- A natural player-coach: carries real project load while staying a calm, steady point of contact for teammates under pressure
Pay: $80,000.00-$95,000.00 per year
Benefits:
- On-site parking
- Paid time off
- RRSP match
