Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Truck Driver to join our transportation team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating commercial vehicles to transport freight across various locations. This role offers an opportunity to work with a dynamic team, ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining safety and compliance standards. Candidates with skills in forklift operation, heavy equipment handling, and automotive repair are highly valued. A valid commercial driver’s license and a clean driving record are essential for this position.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate trucks to transport freight to designated destinations, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment as needed, ensuring proper handling and securing of cargo
- Perform routine inspections of the vehicle before and after trips, including checking fluid levels, tire pressure, and safety equipment
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, delivery documentation, and compliance paperwork
- Conduct basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting when necessary to ensure vehicle safety and operational readiness
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse personnel, and clients regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered during transit
- Operate heavy equipment safely when required for loading or unloading operations
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record
- Experience in commercial driving, freight transportation, or related fields preferred
- Proficiency in forklift operation and heavy equipment handling is a plus
- Basic automotive repair skills or knowledge of vehicle maintenance is desirable
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently
- Strong attention to safety protocols and compliance standards
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Physical ability to lift heavy loads and perform manual tasks related to loading/unloading freight
