We are currently looking for a disciplined and highly motivated Forklift Operators in Calgary, Alberta. Our shift schedules are: 6:00 am - 2:30 pm and 8:00 am-4:30 pm. The ideal candidate has open availability to work afternoon shifts and occasionally on weekends, if required.
Pay: $24.5/hr
Reports to: Shift Supervisor
Role Summary
Loads and unloads material within a warehouse or storage facility. Utilizes hand trucks, forklifts, hoists, conveyors, or other handling equipment to move material to and from aircraft, trucks, or trains and within the storage facility. Has knowledge of commonly used practices, and procedures within a 25 ft tall racking environment. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment.
The Role:
- Manages time, picks, receive goods/products, and physically pulls inventory from the shelves to ensure accurate delivery of warehouse products.
- Packs orders, including shrink wrapping contents onto pallets, all while ensuring orders are accurate and records of inventory are kept up to date for a smooth flow in warehouse operations
- Moves goods from storage areas to loading areas for transport
- Safely stacks and unstacks large quantities of goods onto selves or pallets
- Builds safe pallets
- Drives machines (e.g., lift trucks, reach trucks) while following safety procedures
- Ensures driving areas are free of spills or obstructions
- Selects products using RF gun
Employee Collaboration:
- Communicate clear expectations for work outcomes to team members
- Escalate any concerns about performance to the shift supervisor/production manager
Safety, Training & Processes:
- Responsible for supporting safe, respectful, and productive work environment
- Keep up to date on safety, requirements and operating procedures are met
- Regularly checks equipment for faults or damages
Qualifications:
- 2+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
- Warehouse experience is an asset
- Experience in MS Suite
- High school diploma or GED
- Forklift License is required (Reach, counterbalance, electric walkie)
- Experience driving Raymond Reach truck is required.
- Fall arrest training/license an asset
