- Commitment to Catholic Education
- Identification with and participation in the life of a Catholic parish
- Knowledge of a school Data Management System and Office software (MyEducation BC, Word and Excel)
Homestay Coordinator Required Duties:

Develop and manage homestay-student relationships
-
Conduct regular homestay visits (2 per homestay per year)
-
Interview new homestay applicants
-
Review and match students in consultation with the Director of the Program with homestays based on interests and personality
-
Confirms placement of students with host families and overseas agents
-
Confirms arrival/departure information with host family/student and respective parties, as needed
-
Provides ongoing support, conflict resolution, and mediation between homestay families and students
-
Keep homestay files updated (CRC, SET, home pictures, current applications)
-
Maintains regular contact with the student, host families, and school to ensure the cultural, social, and emotional integration of the student
-
Survey homestay families 4-6 weeks after students are placed in the home to ensure any issues are addressed. Provide survey data to agents/organizations as required and in consultation with the Director

Support the planning and organization of international students’ activities
-
Attend international students’ activities and events as required/directed
-
Manage temporary and permanent homestay moves and related compensation in consultation with the Director
-
Communicate regularly with homestays to keep them up to date on events and any student issues (academic, social, etc.)

Manage all health insurance, Guard.me and MSP applications, payments, claims, and cancelations accordingly and in a timely manner

Recruits and retains host families and conducts orientation sessions for host families, explaining commitments and obligations for homestay families and new students

Provide and monitor safe environment training (SET) to homestays
-
Maintain confidentiality regarding students’ records, information, and personal matters of international students and homestay families

Acts on behalf of the international student department when the Director is away, fulfilling the responsibilities for the care and wellbeing of the international students

Manage safe environment and criminal record check status of homestay families with the diocese
-
Be on call and provide support for emergency situations related to homestays outside of regular school hours

Follow up on required authorization for travel permit forms between homestays and agents as required (i.e. when international students wish to travel outside of the Okanagan)

Send to the bookkeeper homestay reimbursement information a few days before the end of the month
-
Attend and support the weekly students meeting and send a summary of notes to homestays and students as required
-
Perform other duties as required and/or assigned by the Director of International Education and communicate with the Director any issues that arise

Primary contact for homestay emergencies
Marketing Coordinator Required Duties:
- Keep IRHS external digital sign current

Manage IRHS's internal digital signage

Assist with keeping IRHS's website updated

Local Advertising-Castanet, radio
-
Coordinate "Best of Kelowna" participation

Community Service Projects (support role, organizing timing, advertising)

Secure Gym Sponsorships
-
Plan and facilitate Grade 7 Articulation day with school administrators

Plan and facilitate grade 8 Orientation in early September: liaise with SJK, OLOL, and any new families as required
-
School Communications as required
-
Increase domestic enrollment through recruitment initiatives

New families (those not from traditional feeder schools) will be a measure of success
-
Other duties as assigned by administration

Using the allocated funds, market and promote the school both locally and internationally. All initiatives must be in consultation with administration

Effectively use the marketing budget
-
Coordinate radio ads, web presence (Castanet), Immac swag (shirts, etc.), rack cards, promotional posters, promotional videos, etc., social media boosting

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to use discretion when dealing with confidential matters
- Ability to work well with young students, parents, school staff and the extended community
