The RCMI is seeking energetic multi-tasker to take on the role of Housekeeper/Room Attendant. Shifts may be scheduled on weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on business demand. The individual will perform bedroom cleaning (nine-bedroom suits) and general facility cleaning within the Institute's premises. The Housekeeper will perform all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner:
- Ensure all member areas of the Institute are maintained to our service standards
- Responsible for daily cleaning and sanitation as per RCMI standards and cleaning protocols (checklists)
- Respond to members and guests’ questions and requests in a timely manner
- Ensure correct placement of fixtures, furniture, amenities and equipment
- Remove dirty linens, and room service items, replacing new linens in rooms and making beds (when required)
- General Cleaning of washrooms, dust/mop floors, vacuum all carpeted areas, empty waste receptacles, disinfect surfaces, etc. (follow housekeeping cleaning checklist)
- Ensure the correct handling of lost guest property in accordance with the Institutes procedures
- All duties must be performed in accordance with required Health & Safety and employment legislation
- As required, may assist food and beverage team will event setups
- Must be able to work efficiently without supervision
- Perform additional related duties as assigned
Job Requirements
- Previous experience in hotel housekeeping or as a Room Attendant is considered an asset.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions; accurately record information; and perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with guests, coworkers, and supervisors and accurately complete required documentation.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule based on operational requirements, including days, evenings, weekends, statutory holidays, and shift work.
- Good hand-eye coordination and the ability to work efficiently in a physically demanding environment.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs., and perform repetitive physical tasks, including bending, stooping, reaching, kneeling, standing, and walking for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and guest service.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Reliable, dependable, and punctual, with a strong work ethic and positive attitude.
- Knowledge of safe cleaning practices and the proper use of cleaning equipment, tools, and cleaning chemicals is considered an asset.
- Must be eligible to work in Canada.

Pay: From $19.27 per hour
