Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Part-Time Teacher to join our private Kindergarten team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about early childhood education and committed to fostering a nurturing, engaging, and inclusive learning environment for young children. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that promote cognitive, social, and emotional development
- Engage children in educational activities that stimulate creativity and curiosity
- Monitor and assess children's progress, providing feedback to parents and guardians as needed
- Create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment respecting diverse backgrounds and abilities
- Collaborate with colleagues to organize classroom activities and school events
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessments, and other relevant documentation
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding children's progress and classroom updates
- Incorporate technology tools such as Microsoft Office applications to prepare educational materials and reports
- Support children with special needs or disabilities by adapting activities to meet individual requirements
- Uphold all safety protocols and health guidelines to ensure the well-being of children and staff
Experience
- Prior experience working with children in an educational setting is preferred
- Classroom experience in early childhood education or similar environments is highly desirable
- Knowledge of teaching methods for young learners, including those with special needs or disabilities
- Bilingual proficiency in English and French is a significant advantage
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for effective interaction with children, parents, and colleagues
- Familiarity with computer skills such as Microsoft Office Suite for lesson planning and record keeping
- Experience with tutoring or working one-on-one with children can be beneficial
- Organizational skills and time management are important for balancing multiple responsibilities effectively
