We are looking for energetic, professional team members to join us for the 2026 season and help us deliver world-class maritime hospitality.
The Role
We are seeking a Full-Time Gift Shop Cashier to manage front-end operations during our busiest season. As the face of the shop, you will be the first point of contact for thousands of visitors. We are looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can start immediately to help us gear up for the summer rush.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Excellence: Greet international tourists and local visitors with a friendly, professional maritime welcome.
- Efficient Transactions: Process high-volume sales using our POS system, handling cash, credit, and international currencies with precision.
- Merchandising & Stocking: Assist in unboxing unique local crafts, pricing merchandise, and ensuring our displays remain full and visually appealing during "tour bus" rushes.
- Area Ambassador: Act as a local expert by providing information about the lighthouse, safety on the rocks, and nearby South Shore attractions.
- Store Standards: Maintain a clean, organized, and "camera-ready" storefront throughout the day.
What You Bring
- Reliability: You are dependable and available for a full-time schedule, including weekends and holidays (our peak times) for our season running from July-November 2026
- Experience: At least 1–2 years of experience in high-volume retail or hospitality is preferred.
- Pace: The ability to keep your cool and stay organized when multiple tour buses arrive at once.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to assist guests from all over the world.
- Transportation: Must have reliable personal transportation, as public transit does not service Peggy’s Cove.
