We’re partnering with a growing Edmonton-based organization to recruit an Intermediate Accountant to join their team. This is a permanent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys being hands-on, working closely with leadership, and having broad exposure across the business.
This role will work closely with the Senior Controller and President/Owner, supporting financial reporting, accounting operations, dealer payments, and other finance priorities. With a team of approximately 26 employees, this is an opportunity to join a smaller, fast-growing organization where you can have significant visibility and influence.
What You'll Be Doing
- Support the Senior Controller with financial reporting and day-to-day accounting activities.
- Support month-end and year-end close, including journal entries, reconciliations, working papers, and financial analysis.
- Ensure financial information is accurate, complete, and properly supported.
- Work within Acumatica to manage accounting and financial processes.
- Prepare monthly dealer commission and bonus payments and upload payments through the appropriate platform.
- Investigate and respond to dealer and agent inquiries regarding commissions, payments, and statements.
- Enter dealer payments and process cheque deposits for non-automotive products.
- Create and maintain dealer, user, and rate profiles within PCRS.
- Run contracts and support related accounting and administrative processes.
- Assist with additional accounting, reporting, and finance priorities as required.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and efficiencies as you develop your knowledge of the business.
What We're Looking For
- Strong financial reporting and financial statement preparation experience.
- Solid understanding of month-end and year-end accounting, reconciliations, journal entries, and working papers.
- Ability to review financial information critically and take ownership of accuracy.
- Strong systems aptitude with the ability to learn new software and processes quickly.
- Comfortable working in a smaller organization where responsibilities are broad and hands-on.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with leadership, colleagues, dealers, and agents.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.
