Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Welder/Fitter to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and repairing metal components using various welding techniques and fitting skills. This role requires a strong understanding of blueprint reading, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to operate a range of tools and machinery. The Welder/Fitter will contribute to the production of high-quality products, including ductwork, structural components, and custom assemblies, ensuring safety and precision in all tasks.
Responsibilities
- Perform MIG welding on various metals according to blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings.
- Read and interpret technical schematics, blueprints, and assembly instructions to ensure accurate fabrication.
- Use hand tools, power tools, calipers, and machining equipment to cut, shape, and assemble components.
- Operate plasma cutting machines, press brake machines, forklifts, cranes, and other manufacturing equipment safely and efficiently.
- Rigging materials for lifting or assembly using cranes or other rigging equipment while adhering to safety protocols.
- Conduct quality inspections using calipers and other measuring tools to ensure parts meet specifications.
- Assist with the assembly of ductwork, structural steel, or other fabricated components as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety standards.
- Collaborate with team members on complex projects requiring mechanical knowledge and precision fitting.
Experience
- Proven experience in welding (MIG ) within a manufacturing or construction environment.
- Mechanical knowledge related to assembly, machining, ductwork fabrication, or construction projects.
- Familiarity with blueprint reading, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Ability to operate power tools, hand tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, forklifts, cranes, and other relevant equipment.
- Knowledge of rigging techniques for lifting heavy materials safely.
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to fabrication tasks.
- Prior experience with schematics interpretation and assembly processes is preferred.
