Q Academy is a technology and business training institution working with WorkSafeBC, WorkBC, and other institutional partners across BC and Alberta. We are looking for a Government and Institutional Relationship Manager to grow our network of referring offices and case managers, and to significantly increase the number of students we train through publicly funded programs.
This is a relationship-driven role. You will not be cold-calling strangers to close a one-time sale. You will be building long-term, trust-based relationships with Vocational Rehabilitation Consultants (VRCs), case managers, and program coordinators who refer clients to Q Academy for retraining.
What Will You Do:
- Build and manage relationships with Vocational Rehabilitation Consultants across WorkSafeBC regional offices throughout BC
- Reactivate and grow our existing relationships with WorkBC and Workers Compensation Alberta
- Identify and pursue new institutional partners, including ICBC and Veterans Affairs Canada
- Represent Q Academy in meetings, campus tours, and presentations to referring agencies
- Maintain an organized contact and follow-up system for all institutional relationships
- Track and report student outcomes back to referring agencies to build long-term trust
- Work with the Director to set and meet enrollment targets by funding channel
Qualifications:
- Experience in vocational rehabilitation, disability case management, or social services is strongly preferred
- Prior experience working at or with WorkSafeBC, ICBC, WorkBC, or a similar agency is a major asset
- Comfortable with a longer, relationship-based sales cycle rather than fast transactional sales
- Highly organized, with strong follow-up discipline across many contacts and offices
- Confident presenting to government staff, case managers, and consultants
- Results-oriented and comfortable being measured against specific enrollment and outreach targets
What Success Looks Like:
90-Day and Annual Target
- 90 days: Active relationships established with VRCs at 10 or more WorkSafeBC offices
- 90 days: WorkBC and Workers Compensation Alberta relationships reactivated
- Year 1: 10+ actively referring WorkSafeBC offices, up from 3 to 4 today
- Year 1: New institutional partner (ICBC or DVA) onboarded
