Job Description
As a member of our Purchasing Department, the Junior Buyer will coordinate orders of products, supplies, equipment and services for all departments in the company.
Accuracy and attention to detail are key to success in this role. The ideal candidate is proactive, highly organized, flexible and able to follow standard procedures.
This role is performed In-Person 5 days per week. Hybrid or remote arrangements are not available.
IMPORTANT NOTE: This is a 12-month contract for coverage during an employee's parental leave. There is a possibility that the contract will be extended or could turn into a permanent position.
Responsibilities
- Communicate with suppliers by email and phone regarding order status, pricing and delivery timelines
- Set up accurate product part numbers on behalf of our Detailers
- Prepare Purchase Orders based on inventory system requirements
- Respond quickly to Requests to Purchase (RTPs) from the Project Management team
- Support Receiving Team to resolve inventory discrepancies
- Maintain product database
- Prepare and maintain purchasing files
- Confirm material and project requirements with Project Managers
- Follow all established operating procedures, including communication standards and response timelines
- Other administrative duties as assigned
Requirements
- Applicants must have previous experience as a Purchaser or Buyer and possess a solid understanding of purchasing concepts.
- Advanced ability to multitask, manage time and communicate clearly in English (verbal and written)
- Flexibility to adjust and thrive in an environment with changing requirements and priorities for multiple projects or assignments
- Strong computer skills in MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
- Must be able to reliably commute to our office in the Don Mills & Eglinton area and work in-person every weekday

Pay: From $42,000.00 per year
