A warm, adventurous family in Kitsilano is seeking an experienced nanny to become a trusted long-term presence in their daughter’s life.
Their daughter, currently 9-months old, is curious and musical, with a natural sense of humour. She finds joy in her own silly moments and discoveries, making others laugh with her playful personality. Music is part of every day, starting with dancing in her highchair to her favourite playlist during breakfast and finding ways to make music herself. She is also an enthusiastic eater who enjoys a variety of flavours and experiences with food.
The parents are engaged in their approach, with a focus on supporting secure attachment so their daughter feels safe to explore the world around her. They are a family-focused, active couple who enjoy travelling, sailing, and sharing great food together. Their home is screen-free, and their daughter’s days are filled with music, books, play, and real-world experiences. They value a collaborative relationship with their nanny built on trust, communication, and mutual respect.
The ideal nanny brings confidence, patience, and their own wisdom and life experience to the role. They understand the importance of the early years and appreciate following a child’s lead while creating a consistent rhythm through routines and clear, kind guidance. They enjoy playful interactions and encourage curiosity, independence, and confidence as the family’s daughter grows. A nanny who is comfortable supporting a child’s sleep needs through a responsive approach will be an asset in this role.
Responsibilities include supporting the child’s daily routines and accompanying the child to activities using transit or the family vehicle. The role also includes child-related household responsibilities such as preparing meals and snacks for the child, laundry, maintaining a tidy environment, and occasional errands. Comfort with dogs is important, as the family’s Australian Shepherd is part of their daily life. A nanny who enjoys having a dog join neighbourhood walks would be a great fit.
