- Receive and review commenced New Home Warranty policies and verify coverage.
- Explain coverage and claims process to homeowners and builders.
- Attend property as needed with detailed report provided to homeowner and builder concurrently.
- Set, evaluate, and maintain appropriate reserves.
- Gather and assess information to make coverage determinations.
- Investigate losses, collect, and review the relevant information.
- Retain and/or coordinate appropriate external resources.
- Oversee, monitor, and control costs associated with external resources.
- Subrogate against builder for occasions when Millennium has brought in a third-party contractor.
- Fully document claim files in a clear and concise manner.
- Collaborate with sales and underwriting.
- Foster and grow working relationships with contractors and vendors.
- Minimum of two (2) years of Home Warranty claims experience.
- Knowledge of Home Warranty Insurance Regulations, the Construction Performance Guide, Alberta Building Regulation and Alberta Insurance Act is required.
- Experience in the residential construction industry is considered an asset.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, including experience with claims management software and MS Office Suite.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate complex information and make informed decisions.
- High level of attention to detail, organization skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
