We are looking for energetic, enthusiastic professionals with interests in the Food & Beverage field to join our professional kitchen Cook team. As a Cook, you understand the importance of ensuring that the food quality and presentation of all foods prepared meets the client's standards, and the hotel company safety standards. Two days/ week plus call-in
Training will be provided by the employer for the right applicants.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Ensure cleanliness in all food preparation and storage areas, and that each member of the kitchen staff is aware if the importance of the need for cleanliness
- Control and secure all food stocks at arrival of delivery and keep food waste down to a minimum
- To operate and clean all kitchen equipment in a safe, and in a responsible manner.
- Report all defective Equipment immediately
- To ensure that security and lock up procedures in the kitchen are followed to hotel standards.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Maintain consistent food product quality, for guests satisfaction
- Able to meet industry sanitation standards
- Reduce kitchen waste, maintain positive food and watch for kitchen costs
- Follow kitchen safety and security procedures closely
- Maintain Kitchen and equipment well
- Good Communication skills
Job Types: Permanent, Part-time
Pay: $19.00-$19.50 per hour
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Campbell River, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- Food Safe, SafeCheck, Food Handler or equivalent (preferred)
