The Hispanic Arts Society (HAS), founded on June 26, 1987, is a leading non-profit organization dedicated to promoting, preserving, and celebrating Hispanic culture in Calgary and across Alberta. As the producers of major cultural events—including Fiesta on the Street, the Latin Dance Battle, Expo Latino Festival, visual arts initiatives, and a broad range of multicultural concerts and cultural experiences—we offer youth the opportunity to work at the heart of a dynamic, community-centered arts ecosystem.
We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented student to join our team as a Marketing Coordinator for the 2026 season. This role supports the marketing, communications, and public engagement initiatives for all HAS programs, with a primary focus on Expo Latino Festival, Canada’s largest outdoor Latin festival.
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Marketing Coordinator will work in a fast-paced environment and contribute to the planning, development, and execution of marketing and promotional campaigns for multiple events throughout the year.
Responsabilities
- Assist in planning and executing marketing strategies for Fiesta on the Street, Latin Dance Battle, Expo Latino Festival, visual arts exhibitions, and Latin cultural experiences.
- Support the development of social media content calendars (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube), ensuring timely, engaging, multicultural messaging.
- Conduct market research on audience demographics, engagement trends, and promotional opportunities.
- Create written and visual content for social media, newsletters, press releases, website posts, and digital advertising.
- Assist with media partnerships, community outreach, and sponsor visibility plans.
- Coordinate onsite marketing activities, including photography support, signage placement, interviews, and audience engagement activations.
- Track campaign performance analytics and prepare reports with insights and recommendations.
- Support marketing logistics including brand asset management, digital archives, and communication workflows.
- Collaborate with production, programming, and volunteer teams to ensure consistent, aligned messaging across all platforms.
- Minimum Requirements
- We are seeking a student in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Social Media Management, Digital Media, or a related field.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong creativity and understanding of visual storytelling for multicultural audiences.
- Proven ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Highly organized, proactive, and detail oriented.
- Experience with social media platforms, analytics tools, and content creation.
- Basic design or video-editing skills (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut, or similar) are an asset.
- Knowledge of Hispanic culture and interest in the arts sector is preferred.
- Fluency in Spanish is an asset but not required.
- Availability for a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends during events.Hiring Date
